MTU Aero Engines, Germany's leading engine manufacturer, is showing an impressive business performance in 2024. The company recorded strong growth in all business areas in the first nine months of the year.
Adjusted revenue rose 14% to €5.3 billion, while adjusted operating profit increased 25% to €744 million. Particularly noteworthy is the improvement in the adjusted EBIT margin from 12.8% to 14.0%.
The military business proved to be the strongest growth driver with sales up 16%. MTU benefited from projects such as the TP400-D6 A400M engine and the EJ200 Eurofighter engine.
In commercial maintenance, MTU increased revenue by 15%, with the engine leasing business and the maintenance of various engine types in particular declining to success.
In view of this positive development, MTU has raised its forecast for 2024 and now expects adjusted EBIT of over one billion euros, one year earlier than originally planned.
MTU's success is based on its technological leadership, especially in low-pressure turbines and high-pressure compressors, as well as on long-term partnerships in the aerospace industry.
Looking forward, MTU is focusing on research and development to advance innovative propulsion technologies and further strengthen its position in the growing aviation market.
