Is another record year starting for the DAX?
The 2024 chapter is closed, the DAX broke many records and missed closing the year above 20,000 points by a hair's breadth. But for the investors and investors, this can only mean that the record hunt cannot have been over yet. In contrast to US stocks, German stocks are severely undervalued, which should be a great advantage for the domestic global players if the forecasts and results are correct. The advantage of DAX shares is therefore the internationality of the companies, i.e. sales are not primarily made in weakening Germany, but also in regions of the world that show solid growth.
The Made in Germany label can thus shine abroad and bring further growth to the DAX. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the DAX can have another record year or whether the index can achieve positive growth at all. Despite the impending recession in Germany, the omens are not bad. It is even already being heard that, according to Handelsblatt, there could be one of the "longest recessions in history" of the Federal Republic.
Long recession on the horizon?
Of course, it is possible to include all the factors that cause a recession in a complex analysis, but the world is so dynamic that the variables of such a view are simply too many to predict accurately for years to come. Central banks already have a hard time with this every 8 weeks and often correct their views faster than the market can assume. Nevertheless, all this is conceivable in principle and it is quite valuable to always look at both sides of the coin. The markets are ready to start the new year, the journey will always be exciting and the markets will certainly take one or two unexpected turns that will make investors and investors sweat on their foreheads. Nevertheless, the next goal is likely to be to permanently exceed the 20,000 points.
