DAX starts the trading week brilliantly
Actually, it is not so typical for a Monday that the DAX starts with a bang. Yesterday, Monday, the German leading index gained more than 1.5 percent in value and closed at 20,216 points at the end of the trading day. The decisive impetus did not come from the inflation figures reported from Germany, but from excellent economic data reported from the USA. Even the announcement by a newspaper that Donald Trump plans to impose tariffs only on important economic goods of all countries could not remarkably slow down the markets. Above all, the plans for billion-dollar investments in artificial intelligence have driven the markets.
Infineon and Daimler Truck Holding with potential
The share of the Munich-based semiconductor manufacturer Infineon has mainly benefited from this. The share climbed by 7.3 percent within the trading day. The stock is thus moving up a position to leave a significant trading range. This, in turn, would unlock further upside potential. The shares of Sartorius and Daimler Truck Holding also had a fantastic day. Sartorius closed with a gain of 5.9 percent. The problem with the stock, however, is that Sartorius is still trying to find its bottom. According to JP Morgan, there are positive business signals, but whether this is enough to find the confidence of investors remains to be seen. The share of Daimler Truck Holding should be viewed more positively. This also shot up by over 5%, sending a signal that it could soon go further up. Resistance is expected at 39.09 euros, but if this is broken, the share could continue to rise sharply.
A spirit of optimism? Positive retail trade in the United Kingdom
It was not only the DAX that benefited from a friendly stock market environment yesterday, Monday, but the European stock market in general was convincing yesterday, Monday. In addition to the EuroStoxx, there were also positive signals from the UK. Retail sales in the UK were convincing in December with growth of 3.1 percent compared to a shrinking retail sales of -3.4 percent in November. It must now be shown that this effect is sustainable and that the overall economic situation stabilises accordingly. The FTSE 100 closed slightly positively.
