DAX Pauses Ahead of SAP Earnings and China Trade Optimism

Calm Before the Storm: DAX Pauses – SAP Earnings and China Hopes in Focus Today

The DAX took a brief breather on Tuesday, likely preparing for Wednesday's key events. The leading index closed with a moderate gain of 0.29 percent at 24,330.03 points. The underlying market sentiment remains positive, as the US earnings season has delivered robust results so far, pulling the German market along. The major anticipation today centers on the evening: after the market closes, DAX heavyweight SAP AG will open its books. The software giant's quarterly report will attract significant attention and could lead to increased volatility in after-hours trading and at the start of trading on Thursday.

Trump Promises "Great Trade Deal" – MTU and Infineon Soar

Signs of de-escalation are also emerging from the US-China trade dispute. US President Donald Trump is fueling optimism, now speaking of expecting a "great trade deal" after his recent tough rhetoric. Nevertheless, the Trump factor remains an unpredictable risk in the markets, which continues to warrant caution.

Among individual stocks, MTU Aero Engines shone on Tuesday with a strong daily gain of 5 percent. The chip manufacturer Infineon was again among the top 3, climbing a further 3.3 percent. Driven by the sustained AI boom, Infineon is receiving additional tailwind, supported by positive analyst comments, and appears to be transitioning into a sustainable uptrend.

Attacking the Weekly High: DAX Before the Next Record Step

Following Tuesday's consolidation, the DAX has the potential for the bulls to take the lead again on Wednesday. Particular attention is paid to last week's high of 24,448 points. While the index approached this level on Monday, it has not yet been sustainably breached. If the index succeeds in jumping above this price mark, follow-up buyers are likely to appear. Consequently, another record high could come within tangible reach over the next few days.
