DAX goes through the roof with a new record

It took a few days, but the DAX set a new record on a brilliant trading day. Yesterday, Wednesday, the German leading index was able to pulverize its old record and closed at the end of the trading day at 20,574.68 points with a gain of 1.5 percent. Investors are now being asked whether the time for profit-taking has already come or whether there will be new records in the coming days?

Inflation surprisingly low - ceasefire in the Middle East

It was the surprisingly positive inflation data that gave the stock markets a new tailwind. Furthermore, the banks were able to open the reporting season for the past Q4-2024 on a positive note. This has played into the hands of investors and investors, as positive news is also emerging on the globally tricky geopolitical side. In the war between Hamas and Israel, an agreement was reached for a ceasefire and the release of the hostages. This breakthrough has certainly also helped to create a positive mood in the market. Nevertheless, fluctuating markets must continue to be expected, especially since Donald Trump will take over the presidency on 20.01.2025.

Redemption for Bayer?

If it was a liberating blow for the markets, the question arose yesterday as to whether it might also have been a liberating blow for Bayer's shares, which rose by 5.75 percent yesterday. The chart technique, however, looks quite good, as a double bottom has formed and yesterday's trading day was followed by the breakout. But caution is advised, as the company had to accept another defeat in court in the USA and is now waiting for the decision of a higher court. Nevertheless, Bayer went on the offensive and published a preliminary report on its finances. The market seems to have received this information favorably and there are increasing signs that the restructuring is bearing its first fruits.
