On Wednesday, the DAX took a breather after the record highs of the previous week, falling by 0.47 percentage points to 23,527 points. Investors are acting cautiously, taking profits and thus simultaneously positioning themselves to buy in again during further record attempts, in order to further grow their already well-filled coffers.
From a fundamental perspective, the focus this week is clearly on Istanbul, where representatives of the warring parties from Ukraine and Russia will meet for initial exploratory talks on peace negotiations. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to be conspicuously absent. The Kremlin is sending correspondingly high-ranking representatives. Similarly, Donald Trump will not be participating in the meetings. On the US side, US Secretary of State Rubio will be on board to explore potentially positive developments towards a ceasefire.
From a technical perspective, the DAX is behaving accordingly cautiously. Over the past three trading days, the index has moved slightly downwards and has gone into a waiting position to trigger the next impulses at the most attractive prices possible. The current trading range, at whose ends investors are presumably lying in wait, is between 23,370 and 23,900.
Heidelberg Materials in a Price Frenzy - New All-Time High
Among the individual stocks, Daimler Truck is once again in the top position with a price increase of 2.7 percent. Closely following are the shares of E.On with a price gain of 2 percent and Heidelberg Materials with an increase of still 1.8 percent. The Heidelberg Materials share was thus able to form a new all-time high and has gained over 60 percent in the past 6 months. It is likely that the maximum has not yet been reached for this stock either.
