Modern Slavery Act 2015

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It can take various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54, part 6, of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the approach taken by ActivTrades PLC (Company Registration Number 05367727) and our subsidiaries and branches to ensure that effective systems and controls exist to mitigate the risk of slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chain. It constitutes our modern slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31st December 2018.
We have reviewed our business and supply chain and neither we nor, to the best of our knowledge, our supply chain, make use of any form of modern slavery.

Our Business

ActivTrades is a leading global provider of online retail trading, offering its clients the ability to trade financial markets using Contracts for Difference (CFDs). We aim to maximise our clients’ trading experience through a unique mix of superior value proposition, diverse product offering, competitive spreads and stellar customer service.

Our Supply Chains

Given the nature of our business, we consider the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain to be low. We ensure, through effective due diligence that any supplier, agent, consultant or contractor that we work with through our supply chain takes relevant and appropriate steps to ensure the potential for modern slavery and human trafficking is reduced. Our suppliers are typically operations and IT businesses. We expect organisations with which we do business to have and enforce policies so that they comply with the legislation. We do not knowingly support or conduct business with any organisation involved in slavery or human trafficking.

Our Policies

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.
In light of the obligation to report on measures to ensure that all parts of our business and supply chain are slavery free we have reviewed our policies and procedures to assess their effectiveness in identifying and tackling modern slavery issues. We have clear employment and compliance policies and processes in place and employees’ failure to comply with these can result in disciplinary action. ActivTrades PLC also has a Whistle Blowing Policy, which encourages employees to report any wrongdoing, including those related to modern slavery and human trafficking.
These policies and procedures demonstrate our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our business or supply chains.

Training

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we intend to provide training to all our employees. We will also seek to require that our business partners provide training to their employees and suppliers and providers.

Annual Review

We will conduct an annual review of this statement.
